GENERAL RULES
Information
There will be an information desk inside the front (west) entrance of the school.
Lost and Found
Any article found should be taken to the information desk. Owners may secure articles by proper identification. Neither Waltham Elementary School nor the Band-O-Rama association will be responsible for lost, stolen or damaged articles.
Homerooms
Friday night - All performing schools have been assigned a homeroom as listed on the map. Students and chaperones will please refrain from eating or drinking anything in any of the classrooms. We also request cooperation in caring for the equipment in the homerooms.
Saturday - All schools will use the gym as their homeroom. Signs will designate where each school should congregate. We ask that each school provide a chaperone for homeroom supervision during Saturday’s events.
Equipment
Acoustic pianos or digital pianos will be in every performance room. The following equipment will be available to percussionists: two timpani, bass drum, xylophone, and bells.
Conduct and No Playground
We ask each director to remind students that undisciplined behavior will not be tolerated. Please leave all articles in classrooms undisturbed; cooperation is obviously of utmost importance. Please tell your students the playground is off limits during Band-o-Rama. The doors automatically lock and there is no way back in, except all the way around to the front of the building. Because the playground is so close to performance rooms, and unsupervised, we do not want anyone out there.
Meals
Our band parents will operate a concession stand in the Forest Common Area all day. The menu will include donuts, pizza, sub sandwiches, chips, candy, water, and gourmet popcorn made from our Waltham Popcorn fields and our 6th grade STEAM Class. All food and beverages MUST remain in the Forest Common Area. Lunch will be provided for all judges, accompanists, and directors in the hospitality room.
Awards
The awards will be announced at the end of the day in the gym with the presentation of Outstanding Certificates. The ratings will be posted online; the website and QR code are below and will be posted throughout the building. The ribbons will be presented by individual band directors at their own schools at a future date.
